The eagle has landed

Wi-fi is now a bit problematic now, so it may be a few days before this is actually posted. The journey from New York to Paris was unremarkable and on time, and apart from having to walk, out on the Parisien tarmac,  to the puddle-jumper jet in pouring rain, the last leg of the journey into Edinburgh was fine too.

We are now in the lovely metropolis of Motherwell, have had square sausage for breakfast, and are getting ready for a day trip to North Berwick, (south of Edinburgh, on the east coast) where Jim and I both vacationed (separately) as children. We are rendezvous-ing with my mom and uncle Jim somewhere en route (can you tell I’ve been in France recently??), and are hoping to dodge the forecast “heavy showers.” Our plan is to come back via the Scottish borders, stopping in either Biggar or Peebles for dinner.

I will try to post some photographs of our day trip next time. Perhaps a map of Scotland would be helpful too.  The blog could then become a bit like “Where’s Waldo?”  or “Where in the world is Matt Lauer?”
I will keep you posted.
