Simpson's Tours

For the un-initiated, Simpson's Tours typically involve half our baggage weight allowance being taken up in books (travel and novel) and a BIG binder of printouts. This year it is different courtesy of Kindle and Android.  "There's an application for that?" is a frequent comment, and the philosophy that downloading random books that are free in the Kindle store (because if they suck, you didn't pay for them anyway), rules our preparations.  Add TripIt, and we've got everything we need - so long as there is wi-fi!

We are seriously on the road to... Scotland, Rome, Pompeii, Athens, Jerusalem, Galilee, Ephesus, Rhodes and Crete - oh, and back to Scotland.  Virtual tours will be magically transformed (wi-fi willing) into narrated guided tours with easy-to-follow maps.  We will be able to find cafes, restaurants and restrooms close to wherever we happen to be at any given time (wi-fi willing).

As a back up, however, we are sneaking in some actual maps.  Planned and prepared? You bet we are!!
