O, ye of little faith

Well, not only did we get here (JFK), but we got here in time to sample the culinary and wine delights of the Air France business lounge, before departing these shores.  As I type, I am sipping champagne (not sparkling wine or other pseudo-methode champagnoise stuff from places other than France!)  I have had a bowl of very delicious saffron carrot soup, with the obligatory French bread, some pate, grilled veggies, a tiny bit of bleu cheese, and a couple (without appearing repetitive or redundant) of little petit fours with chocolate sauce (and I don't mean Hershey's!)
Of course, there are a number of chic (and not-so-chic) French people in the lounge, and as Jim just pointed out, Dominic Strauss Kahn was arrested last week from this very lounge while waiting to board the very same flight as we are about to board.  This is a GREAT place to people-watch.  And the wi-fi is free!

Next time I blog, I will be somewhere on the other side of the Atlantic.  Maybe Paris, maybe Motherwell.  How will I know the difference?  Vive la difference!

Night all.

  1. Sounds like you're enjoying yourselves already! I see from dad's posting of the Bass Rock on facebook that you arrived safely. I still haven't received word from either of you. This is the point where you would be calling, texting, facebook chatting, and emailing me for my whereabouts. Hope you're having fun. love you
